Title: "Friends With Benefits" (NBC pilot) was picked up!

velvetsky - May 15, 2010 09:38 AM (GMT)
And in Danneel professional news this weekend, it sounds like the pilot is going to be picked up by NBC.

NBC Picks up 4 Pilots

So hopefully we'll be seeing her in a sitcom come fall.

:hyper:

Yay!!! Some happy news.

Random little fact that popped into my head, Didn't she say on the Dove 20 somethings interveiw she did that i the next five (or was it ten?) years she wanted to be settled down, with kids and a sitcom and she talked about the coming home in traffic..... maybe it's just me xD

But yay! for the sitcom! I hope it moves to LA where its nice and warm and she can live out her dreams  (i'm feeling very poetic atm, feel free to delete this post or ignore me xD)

Yay again for the show, I wanna see it :hyper:

Ahhh, such good news! So happy for her, and so excited to have her on TV again. Really looking forward to this!

RachelG - May 15, 2010 01:39 PM (GMT)
I'm so excited it got picked up! I can't wait to see her in something new :)

And I'm even more excited because they replaced the lead guy with Ryan Hansen (D!ck in Veronica Mars), and I LOVE him, so double excitement! haha.

lmao @ you censoring "Dick." It's a name, you can say it! And yes, Dick Casablancas was an uberdouche but I loved him. This should be fun!

I'm so happy that the show got picked up. A chance for me to see Danneel in a TV show. I tried OTH, but I'm not really a fan. I just couldn't get into it. Too much drama. I hope that there will be downloads, because no way that they are going to broadcast such a show here in our stupid country. *HappySqueee*

I hope for downloads too!!

Here's some info and a pic!!

From Oscar and Emmy winner Brian Grazer (“A Beautiful Mind,” “Arrested Development”), “Friends With Benefits” is a half-hour comedy revolving around a group of twenty-something singles as they navigate the difficult, and often confusing, world of dating. Ben Weymouth (Ryan Hansen, “Party Down”) is on the hunt for the perfect woman who meets his unique set of standards, while his best friend, Sara Maxwell (Danneel Harris, “One Tree Hill”), is just looking for a man to settle down with and raise a family. Ben and Sara have fallen into the habit of turning to each other for moral and physical support as they wait for Mr. and Ms. Right to arrive. Their friend Aaron (Fran Kranz, “Dollhouse”), a romantic at heart, doesn’t approve of Ben and Sara's complicated friendship, but he, along with womanizer Hoon (Ian Reed Kesler) and straight shooter Riley (Jessica Lucas, “Cloverfield”), are all distracted with their own dating trials and tribulations.

Thanks for the pics hon, she's going to be sooooooooooo sexy & I'm very excited for her role here. When is going to be airing the date please?

velvetsky - May 15, 2010 09:53 PM (GMT)
There is no airdate yet. We may not know that for a bit still. Right now, it's picked up. This week will be network Upfronts, so we should at least get some idea if it will be a fall show or midseason. If it's fall, we should get a date in the coming months.

Fran Kranz wrote on his twitter that will not be taken off in this show, and did not explain why. Very pity, I like him. :(

Yaaay! :hyper:

marikela - May 16, 2010 06:43 PM (GMT)
Show is held to midseason.

Held to midseason: Parks and Recreation, plus new comedies Friends With Benefits, The Paul Reiser Show, Perfect Couples, as well as new dramas The Cape and Harry’s Law.

That sucks :(

At least it's been picked up though, just have to wait a little longer!

devilounette - May 17, 2010 09:06 AM (GMT)
The role of Hoon is being recast too, I've just read it in one of the article.

As I don't know much of the world of TV show in America, except for the ones I watch, what does "held to mid-season" mean exactly ? Beginnig like in May, June, at the end of other shows ?

Chevy - May 17, 2010 09:07 AM (GMT)
I posted this link over in the picture thread too, but it apparently involves the new show. Danneel in New York (together with Jensen) to promote Friends with benefits. Here at Just Jared

marikela - May 17, 2010 10:45 AM (GMT)

Midseason is from January.
Here's first video about FWB with Danneel.. She looks soo cute!!

devilounette - May 17, 2010 01:12 PM (GMT)
Oh thanks ... but does that mean there would be less than 20-something eps if it was picked up for a whole season ? (sorry for all these questions, I lack so much time to watch TV shows, apart from Supernatural ...)

marikela - May 17, 2010 01:16 PM (GMT)
I don't know lot either but I think if it's picked up for 20 epis it will go with 20. Just there won't be hiatus and it will go without interruptions.

Here's trailer but no Dani in this one. Just scroll down.

I didn't know he went with her for promotion, wowwwww! She looks amazing in the interview, love her & so excited to see her new role. I saw the clips & I'm drooling from Sara, she's so cool & different for Danneel, yaaaaaaaaaaay!

velvetsky - May 18, 2010 06:42 AM (GMT)
As a midseason show, it might have a 'shorter' season, possibly 12 eps or something. But if it takes off, and is renewed for another season the second season would likely be a 'full' season.

devilounette - May 18, 2010 06:56 AM (GMT)
Okkkkkkk, thanks for the explanation !

The shows sounds awesoooooooome ! That is one I'm gonna take the time to watch. But they don't have already set the first airing day, do they ?

velvetsky - May 18, 2010 09:55 AM (GMT)
No, no airdate yet. It's a midseason show, which means it could appear on air as early as February or as late as April. A date may not be set until close to the new year or so, depending on what survives of the 'fall' shows on NBC if there's any new shows that it drops quickly and wants to used the show to fill early in midseason, or if they hold it off for more like spring.
