Absolutely shocked and heartbroken by the news. She was an amazing talent. Thoughts and prayers are with all of her friends and family and the many people who admired her.

It is crazy, I enjoyed basically everything I ever saw Brittany Murphy in. Just so young and they're saying cardiac arrest, I wonder if she had some preexisting condition or what. Just weird. Very sad to hear about that.

I'm very shocked & sad till now. R.I.P Brittany. She was very young & the only child of the family.
:( :(

It's so very sad. I met her years ago in Amsterdam at the 8 mile premiere and she was so cute and fun and bubbly :( and the weirdest thing, Jonathan Brandis took her to her high school prom. I still miss him so much, rip

Yeah, I remember being surprised by Jonathan Brandis' death, there was another of those 'kids' of that era, not as big as Brandis or Brittany Murphy, but who died a few years ago also who I remember watching as a kid, only being a few years younger than them. Very weird, definitely was a surprise coming home yesterday and turning on my computer to find Brittany Murphy had died. It is a little weird she went with Brandis to prom.

Brad Renfro?...he died just a few days before Heath in 2008 :(

No, Christopher Pettiet, he died back in 2000, though I think it wasn't until around the time Brandis died that I found out about it. It was kind of crazy. When I was like 13 or something, I remember they were a couple of my favorite 'hot guys' kind of thing. Along with like Jason Priestley and Luke Perry. Chris and Jonathan were much closer to my age, being only about 3 years older than I was. And I was quite floored the other year when Heath Ledger died. 10 Things I Hate About You had an oddly strong impact on me, I think it had to do with the state of mind I was in at the time I saw the movie and it just made me feel better. Brittany was kind of similarly shocking. I remember seeing Clueless when it was first out, and before that even I recalled her from the TV show Almost Home. She always seemed very lively and that 'sweet and bubbly' thing always seemed to shine through in her comedy roles. Though having seen Don't Say a Word, she was capable of shedding that in a role that didn't call for it. But the way it came through in those upbeat roles, it just seemed so natural to her. And Clueless was kind of a cultural point for me. It was out when I was in high school, and I remember a guy in my English class quoting that 'rollin with the homies' and laughing.

OMG CHRISTOPHER! I think you are and grew up loving the same guys. Almost nobody knows Chris! I still feel sad everytime I see him on Point Break and I think it was Dont Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead that got me all into him. He was on Seaquest too btw, just like Brittany did an ep there with Jonathan... oh man now im all depressed, its all so sad

Sounds like we did, kind of funny, if it weren't for all of them being dead now. It is crazy and sad so many young folks with talent and promise of even more died so young. Chris was kind of 'little known' to many I think, but yeah, I remember having a picture of him up on my wall when I was in junior high, he had incredible blue eyes.
