Thought this might be of interest to the Joe and/or True Blood fans around here...
True Blood: 'One Tree Hill' Actor to Play Werewolf Alcide
Are all the casting rounds on True Blood driving you crazy? In a span of just two weeks, we've learned that Theo Alexander landed the role of vampire Talbot, Marshall Allman was cast as Sam Merlotte's long-lost younger brother Tommy Mickens, Grant Bowler signed on as werewolf Coot, and Shannon Lucio got the role of Bill's first wife. And just a few days ago, Emmy-winning actress Alfre Woodard was enlisted to play Lafayette Reynold's mom, while James Frain joined the cast as bad vampire Franklin Mott.
But the biggest casting news so far involves Joe Manganiello, who is perhaps best known for playing bar keeper Owen on One Tree Hill. According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, Manganiello has landed the most important new role for season 3: Werewolf Alcide Herveaux!
When word came out that producers were looking for an actor to play Werewolf Alcide Herveaux, True Blood fans wasted no time pondering on which celebrity would flawlessly portray one of the most important new characters next season. Names like Alex O'Loughlin, Jason Dohring, Hugh Jackman and even Gerard Butler came into the fold but now we learn that it's Joe Manganiello. Is he a perfect fit for the role? Or are you disappointed about the casting results?
If True Blood series creator Alan Ball decides to follow the novels, Alcide will be summoned by Eric to help Sookie search for the missing Bill.
Meanwhile, True Blood has yet to cast Werewolf Alcide's psycho girlfriend Debbie Pelt. ...I've never seen True Blood, but what I want to know is, why is it always vampires & werewolves?! Stop this Twilight madness!
I don't know, but True Blood is so NOT Twilight. I still am avoiding Twilight. A friend of mine from high school (who I watched The Craft with far too many times) said it was two hours of her life she wants back, seeing Twilight. True Blood however is fun, and wild, and very adult, and really pretty damn good. I just ran across this info. I don't get the pay cable channels, so I have to wait like an extra year from air to see them on DVD, but I totally enjoyed season one of True Blood, and am wondering how long I have to wait for season two on DVD. *L* And once this one with Joe eventually gets to DVD, I'll definitely be checking that out. :)
Yeah, Twilight was insanely boring. I went into it thinking it would be so-bad-it's-good, but honestly it was just bad. The baseball scene (set to that badass Muse song) was its one saving grace. Glad I waited for Netflix.
I'd like to check out True Blood on DVD, but I already watch way too much TV...
