Title: So... I guess that's it for Rachel?
DuckyZu - December 11, 2009 02:46 AM (GMT)
Or do you think she'll stick around? She was supposed to be on the show for 7 episodes, but I got the impression that they were more. Btw it looks like her storyline it's over.
And let me tell you that... It was surprisingly amusing at first, but overall it sucked. Wasted use of a character...
I'll write more tomorrow (hopefully) it's late here, but I didn't wanna risk to forget to post it.

I'm not sure, it did seem 'thin', like they could have had 'anyone' be that young hot wife who wanted the money. There wasn't really much insight into Rachel, it was mostly about Dan. Which was kind of what it felt like they did with Rachel in season 5 also. It was like we didn't really get to dig into her, she was just a piece in what was going on with Brooke. Which feels like a shame, cause by the end of season 4, Rachel, to me, was one of the most interesting characters. There just seems like there is so much more they could do with her, if only the writers would jump in.

Yeah, there was a lot of potential with this storyline, which I admit I didn't like at first, but I changed my mind watching it in the first episodes, as I said it was rather amusing. There was so much they could have done once she and Dan went to Tree Hill, insted she was never even mentioned before that episode. She had that line with Nathan, got slapped by Brooke and dismissed by Mouth, very disappointing considering the relationship they had in s3 and 4.
And yeah, at this point they could have used any other actress.
Plus, s7 in general is really awful ihmo. I don't even know why I'm still watching... maybe because I have fun bashing it.

She's too good for this failure of a show anyway.
RUN DANNEEL AND DON'T EVER LOOK BACK!1

Yeah, I'm still watching, though the more interesting characters now, are the newer ones. I like Julian, Clay, and Quinn. I always loved Brooke, but now I almost couldn't give a rat's arse (*L*) about her. There were a few moments with Rachel, like walking the halls at the high school looking at the old pics, where I thought maybe 'okay, now we're going to get something with her', but then that was all it was. I think I do have to agree, at this point, Danneel is better than this show. I've always liked OTH, but it was never the best. But interesting characters like Brooke used to be, and like Rachel was had kept me coming back, despite all the things that also drove me crazy. But I do recall, it started up same as The OC, just the OC ended after 4 seasons. But The OC was always my favorite. There was less that annoyed me about that show (basically just Marissa's whiny ass). I'm still tuning into OTH, and I guess we'll find out if that's it for Rachel on the show. It is a shame though that they haven't really done something better with the time Rachel was on this season. It really felt like it had potential to be interesting when it started, but the storyline I hoped we'd see, something with something of depth for Rachel, just never happened.

it seems like they just wanted to bring her in this season to conclude the storyline with her running away, so they just threw her into a role that they needed for Dan's storyline.

and to top it all up, they completely destroyed rachels character and the growth of season 4
now SHE's responsible for "the death of that young boy" so that dan could have a new heart...
redemption my...
all this goody-two-shoes-dan is making us hurl
brachel - December 29, 2009 02:45 PM (GMT)
I am disappointed to not find Brachel like in Season 4
marikela - December 29, 2009 05:51 PM (GMT)
I'm disapointed in what tey did to Rachel in general!!
Cora - January 1, 2010 06:58 PM (GMT)
what happened to Rachel? can someone please sum it up for me?^^
marikela - January 1, 2010 10:05 PM (GMT)
Dan closed his show divorced with her and left without job and without a cent.. :(

What a disappointing mess of a return for Rachel. I had such high hopes. Alas.
I think I'm pretty much over this show. I have no idea why I'm still watching...
velvetsky - January 2, 2010 10:09 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I know, I'm starting to wonder that too. At this point, the most interesting characters are the new ones. The only layover I even seem to care about anymore is Julian. Brooke was a favorite, and I'm not sure I care about her anymore. I still like Jamie, but a 6 year old can only do so much on a show like that.
NikkiHolly - January 2, 2010 11:40 PM (GMT)
at this point, i'm pretty much only watching out of some weird sense of loyalty. i've been watching the show since the night it premiered.
Cora - January 4, 2010 11:54 AM (GMT)
duuuhhh it's really weird.
Julian was the boyfriend of Brooke right?
velvetsky - January 4, 2010 09:53 PM (GMT)
@ Cora, yes, Julian is Brooke's boyfriend, who at this point I like more than Brooke.
@NikkiHolly *L* I think there might be some of that too. I've watched since it started, so there's a 'loyalty' feeling.
Cora - January 5, 2010 10:26 AM (GMT)
I think Julien is very cute.
:D
oh what a smart comment of mine^^
But what's wrong with Brooke?
velvetsky - January 5, 2010 08:28 PM (GMT)
I don't think there's really anything wrong with Brooke, but she's kind of in her own world. Like there's not a lot of her interacting with anyone out side of her shop, other than Julian. I don't really dislike her or anything now, but she's not as compelling as she was even last season. Julian is quite cute, I've liked that actor for sometime now, Austin Nichols is his name.
