DHMB is now two years old, and I thought a new look was in order... so what do we think? Thumbs up? Thumbs down? I think I have one up and one down at the moment. haha

I love the new banner (cupcaaaaake! haha - thanks again to DeanBean009!) and like this color scheme with it, but the banner isn't sitting how I'd hoped at the top. And even though I spent foreverrr uploading/inputting all these new little custom buttons/markers/etc., I think I might change some of them back to the InvisionFree default... as you may notice, it's rather difficult to tell what's been read and what hasn't with these new forum markers. Unless it's just on my screen? I can barely see the difference between the lit/unlit ones. How is it looking for you guys?

And I agree about the icons it's not only your screen it's quite difficult to differentiate what's new and what's not but once again I love the color soo much that I'm trying be okay with that..)

Yeah, I'd rather not go back to the blue InvisionFree markers, but these new ones are kinda useless...

I agree with you, Paula, the icons are kind of complicated to understand. But everything is looking so awesome that it's not such a huuuuuge deal. Maybe with a little time we'll all get used to it.

Yeah, definitely not a fan of the markers... maybe just that it's not what it's always been, it seems 'weird'. Like I'm not in the right place. The banner does look strange, like the very top is being cut off or something. But I guess thus kind of inoffensive, just something to get used to.


Though I'm noticing now it's not just the main markers, but the little 'folder markers' too... suppose those could be replaced too, just have to find/make something to replace them with.

Yeah, something definitely needs to be done with the markers before we all go blind/crazy trying to figure out what's new and what isn't. I might just pull these ones into PSP and make the color differences more apparent. At any rate, SOMETHING will be done ASAP. lol

And I don't know what the heck is going on with the banner placement. I guess this layout was made to accommodate a smaller banner, and I have no idea how to tweak the CSS code to fix it. Any CSS whizzes around here have any suggestions? If so, please PM me!

PS: Apologies for any weirdness that may occur while I'm attempting to tweak things. I *almost* have the banner part figured out, but moving it down screws up other parts of the layout at the top. Le sigh. My CSS failure, let me show you it. :P

The site looks good! I love the new banner and color scheme!

I'm not sure, but I'm wondering now if there's some fundamental issues with the way this layout is done, and a banner of this nature. But I'm not sure. Cause there is secondary images at the top that are a certain size, and that menu with 'members' 'home' ect, which isn't even accessible like this, I'm not sure if it's meant to sit along side a small logo image or what.

Yeah, unfortunately, that is the case. I didn't realize it wouldn't be able to accommodate a larger banner than what appeared in the example of the layout. <_<

I'm sure if I knew CSS there's some way of working around it, but I'm at a loss. I should probably just scrap this one and try another, but I really like this one save for the couple of minor issues... Sigh.

Maybe, I wonder if there's something similar but where the header area is different. I tried messing around with it (found the source code) but like I said, I don't really know CSS, I just trial and error things and see if it works or not... didn't find anything that worked. But maybe there's something similar, or maybe there's a way to tweak it more, like if there's ways to cut and paste codes from different sources.

Yeah, I've been playing around with the code a bit to see if I could get it in a better spot, but when I do that it "breaks" the layout around it. (Apologies if it just looked weird for a second - I was trying to show a friend what happens when I do a certain thing with the coding. lol)

Argh, this is so frustrating. The layout is so perfect otherwise. It goes with the new banner so well...

Yeah, I know, I'm finding the same issue, messing with it again. One of those things that can make you nuts when you can't get it right. I'll keep messing with it incase I stumble onto anything useful before you do.

we agree about the previous comments; the layout/banner combo is really nice and a welcome change to teh look of the board; the folders and banner placement could take some getting used to

but we don't really know any board that's always great with a new header/layout from the get-go...it's always searching and finding stuff out (believe us, we know)

Looking at it, i think its the style of the skin which doesn't really allow for a normal kind of banner, which is a shame because both are lovely!

Yeah, this is what I get for finding a pretty layout and jumping at it and just assuming it would all work out. I failed to consider that the top part wouldn't just, like, stretch to accommodate whatever size banner. Fail! haha. Maybe I should have left the design part to you. :P

Thanks for all your comments, guys! I'm glad you like it for the most part, save for the few lingering annoyances. (And I'm so sorry I haven't changed the markers yet; I never have time when I'm thinking of it. I'm setting a reminder in my BlackBerry right now to get on that tonight. lol)
