'One Tree Hill' stalker creeps to 'Gossip Girl' spinoff

Matt Barr, who played a stalker on "One Tree Hill," is hoping to play a more pleasant role on another CW show.

The 25-year-old actor has been cast as Keith van der Woodsen on The CW's "Gossip Girl" spinoff.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, van der Woodsen is a wealthy Malibu hunk who is Lily Rhodes' (Brittany Snow) love interest. It's possible that his character is the father of the original show's Serena van der Woodsen, played by Blake Lively.

The spinoff is a 1980s rewind to Lily's wild teen years. Already, Andrew McCarthy has joined to play Lily's dad Rick Rhodes, a music company exec, and Krysten Ritter will play her older sister Carol.

Korbi TV has reported that inside sources confirm that "Lost's" Cynthia Watros will play Lily's mom while "Veronica Mars'" Ryan Hansen is in the running as one of the sister's love interests.

Barr is best known for playing Ian Banks, Peyton Sawyer's (Hilarie Burton) stalker on "One Tree Hill." He'll also play a part in the ensemble murder drama "Harper's Island," coming to CBS on Thursday, April 9.
