James Van Der Beek to guest on 'One Tree Hill'
Welcome home, Dawson! James Van Der Beek will return to his old Dawson's Creek stomping grounds in Wilmington N.C. this month to shoot an episode of One Tree Hill that will air in late November. Van Der Beek -- who memorably depicted a serial killer on Criminal Minds in 2007 -- will play a director who's interested in making a movie out of Lucas' (Chad Michael Murray) novel. "The specter of Dawson's Creek is always around us," says Mark Schwahn, who exec produces Hill on the same production lot in Wilmington that was once used by Creek. "We're about to [complete] 128 episodes, which is what Dawson's did," says Schwahn. "So I thought it would be cool to get James."

I'm so horrified right now. I can't stand JVDB and Dawson makes me want to punch something, so having him coming on more or less AS DAWSON... ugh. I hate you, Mark.
velvetsky - October 15, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
Well, I watched, and liked DC, and while Dawson was never my fav, I always preferred Pacey and Jack in terms of the guys. Joey always annoyed me though :P It feels a little 'gimmicky', like we need ratings so all you Dawson fans come watch us. But aside from that, I'm not really bugged by the 'move'.
twinzz-dorien - October 16, 2008 10:53 AM (GMT)
OH MY..wasn't dawson a aspiring movie director punk?
We hate dawson's creek (and JVDB's terrible one line acting)
he speaks like a robot
we don't want JVDB, bring back DH!!!
Dawson's tree hill ... or how about "one tree dawson"
there isn't much more they can do wrong
their motto seems to be
"if you're unemployed, we'll hire you as a temp!"

Yes. Hence my rant at them basically bringing him back as Dawson. Ugghhh.
I always preferred Pacey too, velvetsky, and would actually be excited if it were Joshua Jackson dropping by for a visit. But JVDB? Whyyyy? lol
He already invaded Ugly Betty on me last year and played a total douche. Do not want!
twinzz-dorien - October 16, 2008 08:20 PM (GMT)
we can't stand JJ either :s ...or any of the old DC cast for that matter
yay! even less reason for us to continue watching the show
what's next? ...One Tree Hill Ft. Dawsons creek (minus Kate Holmes..cuz she's married to a big shot in hollywood these days..)
next on the CW!
next on the OTH guest starring list: Dame Judy Dench, just for the hell of it!

if there's one thing you aughta know about us..its that we're random...and that OTH seems to be hiring everyone these days haha

After Kevin Federline
I'm waiting for Britney spears to appear there soon
;)
Paula - October 21, 2008 03:45 PM (GMT)
Um, I'd take Britney way before Kevin or JVDB. Maybe that's just me. lol

*creepy voice*
Gimme moooorree
Cora - October 21, 2008 08:09 PM (GMT)
haha- yeah I know what you mean-
Her whole thoughtful girlish songs would fit to OTH,
like - I'm not a girl not yet a woman- kind of like Lucas in the first season- but that's another topic^^
Paula - October 21, 2008 08:25 PM (GMT)
Oh god, I just got the most AMAZING mental picture of Lucas singing "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman." Thank you for that. (And then there's that clip of Chad singing "Hit Me Baby, One More Time" in 'Freaky Friday.' hahaha)
Right now 'Gossip Girl' is using her song "Womanizer" for a Chuck Bass promo. It's pretty fab. :P
Cora - October 22, 2008 11:36 AM (GMT)
HAHA-
You're very welcome.
Well I don't know... but I guess after Dawsons Creek and shows like that- it's kind of hard to come up with something new and after... 6 or 7seasons of One Tree Hill?
Maybe they are looking for some actors who can keep the show going I don't know- maybe that's why so many different 'well'known actors are jumping around in OTH lately...
But womanizer rocks- even when the songtext is pretty... simple? LMAO -_-
devilounette - October 22, 2008 04:28 PM (GMT)
I dislike James van der Beek, and I don't think he's the kind of actor who can keep the show interesting ... Rachel could ... but she doesn't come back ! I'm gonna have a tough boycot (do you say this too in English ?) : no more OTH until Rachel comes back, and if she doesn't, then I won't buy any DVD !

LOL..you go girl! haha
and yes..you can say it in EN too :)
twinzz-evelien - October 27, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
let me just tell you in advance taht, in case they're gonna put Brooke and film maker guy together, One Tree Hill will be forever tarnished and I will stop watching...really
NikkiHolly - October 28, 2008 12:05 AM (GMT)
i don't really mind James van der Beak coming onto the show. I mean, OTH did in a sense take the place of Dawson's Creek as the WB's teen drama. And they film in Wilmington. And David Blake Hartley and Greg Prange produce OTH and they are involved with OTH as well. so it's not all that surprising. (and i kinda liked Dawson's Creek.)

I liked Dawson's Creek too- but... the thing is that they take all those 'stars' from other shows? it's weird...
twinzz-dorien - October 28, 2008 12:49 PM (GMT)
james vdb isnt a star...he was a star LOL ... evenso for questionable reasons (DC)
Elle - October 28, 2008 01:25 PM (GMT)
I never liked James VDB is dawson's...(i loved the show) but he was in Criminal Minds last series as a guest star and man he was aweomse, creeped the hell out of me!
Cora - October 28, 2008 02:00 PM (GMT)
LOL- I don't know... What I meant was that they don't take brand-new actors...
they take those who already played in a 'soap' kind of show... I guess you can call it- with a lot of drama and stuff
@ Elle: I haven't seen him there xD
Elle - October 28, 2008 02:02 PM (GMT)
It may have been two seasons ago..i can't quite remember but i completely didn't recognise him at first!
Cora - October 28, 2008 05:01 PM (GMT)
I guess that is because he didn't want to be recognized??? LMAO, I have no idea-
Or it's the same as it was with Christina Aguilera- new imagine- new appearance!
^_^ :D
But I don't watch criminal minds because it is very disgusting at times and they show it around 10 PM over here- I sleep at that time^^
twinzz-dorien - November 19, 2008 05:24 PM (GMT)
wow..45 seconds in and he's already managed to annoy the living daylight outta me...
