I'm curious - what do my fellow DHMB-ers make of Sarah Silverman? I think she's hilarious, but I find it's a rather unpopular opinion. What's your take on her?

The second half of the second season of her show (it fell victim to the strike last year) premieres tomorrow night. I'm excited!

I have a high threshold for offensive (I think anyway), and I don't really find her 'offensive' as she's just not that funny to me. I don't know if it's delivery. I think when I've seen her do 'other material' like as an actress she's better. But like when it's her material, I just don't care for it. And usually I'm good with offensive kind of stuff.

She's one of those that people either adore or can't stand. There's really no in between with her. I don't get the people who are totally offended by her - they're obviously taking her way too seriously.

Anyway, thanks for your opinion. I'm just curious what other people around here think of her. :)

Ahhh, you win at life for this comment! They're one of my favorite celeb couples ever, and from what I've been hearing, they ARE back together now! They've been spotted out and about holding hands a lot again lately, and went to Howard Stern's wedding as a couple. Sarah was on "The View" yesterday and played it coy, but I think it's pretty obvious they're back together. ^_^

I get what you mean, though. She can be somewhat hit or miss at times. I love her and sometimes even I come away from something of hers thinking, "Well, she bombed that one." Usually daytime talk shows or award shows where she has to reign it in too much and it sucks the fun right out of her.

Yeah, that was pretty great. Sarah made a good point - Paris HAD to know that the jokes about her would be there, yet she still chose to spend her last night before going to prison at the VMAs. She knew what she was in for. lol

A lot of people knock her for the Britney Spears thing at the MTV Movie Awards, and while I admit that the jokes about her sons were probably over the line, her snarky comments about Britney herself were made without the benefit of having actually SEEN the performance (since she was backstage prepping and oblivious to what was happening on-stage).

She wrote those jokes expecting to be following one of Britney's usual, epic MTV performances (since it was being hyped as Britney's big comeback), and when she finally did see it and saw how fucked up and out of it Britney was, she was horrified that she'd gone out and roasted her immediately after. :\

I remember at the time being like, "Wow, that's pretty damn cold!" Sarah must have been so confused by the reaction she was getting from the crowd. What should have been Britney's big comeback fell just short of a public meltdown, and then this crazy bitch bounced out onto the stage to kick her while she was down. Oh, Sarah. lol

Speaking of hit or miss... The Sarah Silverman Program had a two-night premiere last week, and I thought the first episode was hilarious, while the second wasn't all that funny. I'll admit that some episodes of her show totally bomb, but others are so funny that they make up for it. In my personal opinion, anyway. lol
