God, this episode was depressing.
Lots of good acting, though. I think one of my favorite moments was Brooke and Jamie together at Quentin's casket at the very end. When Jamie draped the cape over the casket and looked so sad and then Brooke burst into tears... awww.
Major props to Antwon Tanner. They don't generally give him much to work with in the drama department, but he made me so sad in this episode. I kinda loved when Deb was like "aw, fuck it" at the wake and went over to him. Probably not the best way for Nathan to find out about them, but it was still a nice moment.
And little Jackson - that kid is pretty amazing when you consider how young he is. I have a niece about his age and can't even imagine her being able to memorize lines, deliver them on cue AND put emotion into them. He had some great scenes this week, too.
Still annoyed with Peyton's stupidity regarding Brooke. Seriously, W.T.F?!
And Nanny Carrie's motivation for taking off with Jamie is... a dead son buried in her back yard? Oookay. I'd like to know how the hell she got away with that one. She's so creepy.
Not sure what to make of this new Sam chick. I spent the first half of the episode trying to figure out who the hell was narrating.
It was cute when Haley took the kid's marker to sign Q's desk and then invited the rest of the class to sign it. Vandalism for a good cause. lol
The show is so dark so far this season. Lighten up a little, OTH!
Okay, yesterday before the episode, I told evelien:
"One of my major pet peeves about Carrie is that we don't know why she wants to take Jaimie"
okay...so far we have the answer to the question "why is she going after A CHILD
...if we were to implement that script in our classes...people would be all over us asking "why jaimie, why not some other random kid"
so that's what i'm wonderng....WHY jaimie????
Who knows. I guess Jamie was just luck of the draw when she went in search of a nanny position and she latched onto him (and Nathan).
I do admit I cracked up a little bit when she said she hoped it was Haley who came after Jamie that she'd have to kill. Not that I want Haley dead, it just seemed hilarious to me that she's so crazy she thinks if she kills Haley that Nathan and Jamie will just happily go on with her as if nothing happened. Anyway, they really need to move that storyline along already. I'm getting sick of the Carrie and Dan scenes in the faux hospital room.
PS: Still no more Mouth! Though I do wish Millicent was around for Brooke right now. (Or even better, Rachel! You know she wouldn't fall for this "I fell down the stairs and somehow acquired hand marks all over me in the process" nonsense.) Peyton is proving to be fairly useless at the moment. At least Haley (and maybe Nathan?) seem to get that something else is going on with her.
