:P so... Kimmy from Germany found a website where you can pre-order Ten Inch Hero internationally

after a short hassle of how to register in Swedish..we were able to pre-order Ten Inch Hero (it comes out on the 29th of october there)

its got finnish, swedish, norwegic & danish subtitles .but you can turn them off if you want :)

the URL is:

www.dvd.se

the total amount for us came to 198 Swedish Krones (about 21 euros) - shipping included (the DVD itself comes to about 18 euros)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

we've already got ourselves an account ... so if anyone wants a help into getting the movie (region 2!!!) you can ask us ...

if you want to buy the DVD yourself ..Here is the way to register!

------------------------------

At first you have to open an account on dvd.se It doesn't cost anything. On the start page klick on registrera dig on the right top of the page. Then klick the second alternative: "Jag vill registrera mig utan personnummer" (This is important. Otherwise you can't register cause you are not from Sweden). Fill in everything with a red star. After your registration search for Ten Inch Hero via the SÖK-section on the right top and klick "KÖP" to preorder it. On the left top you see your "Varukorg" Klick "Till Kassan".

*copy/pastes reply from test zone, lol*

Wow, you're brave. I'd be pretty hesitant to order something from a website in a language I don't understand. I'm hesitant enough to order from some sites that are in English. haha

Definitely let us know how it goes for you - if your transaction goes well, maybe I'll pony up the money for international shipping and order it, too (if there's still no US release on the horizon at that point).

I hope all goes well for you and you get your Ten Inch Hero in October! ^_^

mm... this reply looks kinda formilliar!!!!!

*copy/pastes reply from test zone, lol*

LOL... one advantage: one of our best friends lives in Finland and she speaks enough swedish to help us through it LOL

DVD.se is a licenced company (kinda like amazon and cduniverse...) so we just decided to "take the plunge" haha

we'll let you know how it turns out!!!!

Oh, that's good - 'cause yeah, I'm hesitant to stray far from Amazon.com as far as ordering things like that online goes. Sometimes I go the eBay/Half.com route, but at least then you know the risks involved, and PayPal keeps your info safe - there are just so many sketchy sites out there just waiting to abuse your credit card info/identity that if I haven't heard of the place, I'm not ordering from it. lol

Anyway, good luck!

annemiek - August 13, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)
I ordered it too. Wanted to wait and see if they sell it in Holland by that time but didnt want to take the risk. But if they do I can sell my other copy to you Paula! LOL

glad to see it worked out for ya :)

:P we're probably gonna buy it from a dutch/belgian or english website too ... this is just so that we're able to see it already (and so that we'll be able to tell everyone "we've got one of the first Ten Inch Hero dvd's ever!" LOL)

Paula - August 13, 2008 06:00 PM (GMT)
Well, as long as it's for the right reasons. :P

When is the screening again? Will you have already seen it on the big screen before DVD?

Hah, that might work, Annemiek! I still dread the overseas shipping charges, though. Pleeease announce a US release already!

Chevy - August 13, 2008 06:26 PM (GMT)
I must be crazy. I ordered too! LOL!

Thanks ladies for the instructions!

velvetsky - August 13, 2008 07:55 PM (GMT)
That's cool. I have no ability to play region 2, so I'm stuck until it gets a region 1 release. But I'm hoping that perhaps it'll get that soonish.

Hah, good deal. I'm curious to see if they've altered it in any way for the DVD release - those of you who get first crack at the DVDs will have to let us know how it compares.

velvetsky - You may be able to play Region 2 and just don't realize it. A lot of DVD players have region hacks. Not sure if that's something you've ever looked into... http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

My DVD player is awesome. It wasn't advertised as playing anything more than Region 1, but I can pop Region 2 discs into it (possibly others? never tried) and play them without any hacks. Very nice. ^_^

velvetsky - August 13, 2008 09:20 PM (GMT)
I've never checked. Though I don't have any region 2 DVDs to check on it with. *L* But that is curious.

I wrote a message to Betsy from the Ten Inch Hero Crew. I wanted to know if there is a chance for us poor German people to see the movie in the near future.

That is what she replied:

We have a DVD/cable distribution for Germany right now. I don't know when it's coming out there, but I know it will shortly.

Cool, huh?

Take care,
Betsy

*squeee* I mean I would prefer to see the movie on the big screen but at least we GET to finally see it :-)

Wheeeeere is the U.S. love?!

I mean, uh. Yay for those of you in Germany? :P

Kimmy - August 18, 2008 07:43 AM (GMT)
I already contacted the German distribution company. They did not answer so far (btw: That was my reason to order my copy in Sweden!) Like Betsy said: Distribution companies don't tend to talk to mere-mortals *lol*!

But I studied the German distribution comapny and they tend to release movies in February or May when the German Film Festivals take place.

These are the channels the distribution company mostly shows its movies:

- ARD
- ZDF
- ARTE
- third channels
- KiKa
- sometimes the RTL group

As I know TEN INCH HERO shall be shown on TV first and then be released on DVD.

Paula - August 18, 2008 07:32 PM (GMT)
Ah, yeah, I guess Sweden is your better bet if you don't want to wait until sometime next year. I really hope it works out for you guys who took the plunge and pre-ordered!
