haha! Pretty much! Maybe Auntie Andrea can tour with them since she doesn't seem to have any interest in her siblings' baby parade. :P

| Aren't the corrs currently working on a new album though?..thought I'd heard something about that?! |
I'm not sure, but that would be really great! I haven't been doing the best job of keeping up on them since there hasn't been much to report lately (other than a birth/pregnancy announcement every few months, it seems, lol), and they were never that big over in the US so news about them doesn't make the media over here.
But yeah, I really hope they have another album in the works! I didn't even buy that last one they released ("Home"), with all the traditional Celtic type music on it... I checked out some of it online and it was really not my thing. Bring on more of the Irish-flavored pop rock, please!

I stand corrected..the last album they brought out was a compi album in 2007
this is what wikipedia has on them:
| QUOTE |
The Corrs have been on hiatus since 2006.[64] Sharon, Jim, and Caroline are raising their own families while Andrea pursues a solo career.[65] Sharon married Gavin Bonnar, a Belfast barrister, on July 9, 2001.[66] Since then, they have had two children, Cathal Robert Gerard[67] and Flori Jean Elizabeth.[68] Jim's child, Brandon, was born in 2006 to Gayle Williamson, his ex-fiance and a former Miss Northern Ireland.[69] Caroline married Frank Woods, a property developer in Majorca, Spain on August 22, 2002.[70] They have three children, Jake, Georgina and Rihann.[71][72] Andrea released her first solo album, Ten Feet High, on June 25, 2007. It was produced by Nellee Hooper, who has worked with Gwen Stefani and Madonna; Bono was an executive producer.[73] The first single released from the album was "Shame on You (to Keep My Love from Me)".
The Corrs released their second compilation album, Dreams: The Ultimate Corrs Collection, on November 20, 2006. The album consisted of several of the band's hits, as well as tracks that had not previously been released on Corrs albums, such as "I Know My Love", a collaboration with The Chieftains, and "All I Have To Do Is Dream", Andrea's duet with Laurent Voulzy. The album also featured remixes of "When The Stars Go Blue" and "Goodbye". The latter was released as a download-only single to promote the album. However, the album charted poorly, reaching number 24 in Ireland.[1] On September 25, 2007, The Corrs released another compilation album, The Works. The album consists of three CDs that feature previously released songs. It performed worse than its predecessor, failing to chart at al |
their official website hasn't even been updated since 2007!!

Our mom is absolutely crazy about those celtic music things...so the corrs is an avid visitor in her cd player B)
Paula - August 7, 2008 08:13 PM (GMT)
Ouch, I wasn't even aware they're released another one ("The Works").
But really, what did they expect? You can't keep re-releasing the same material and expect it to do well. All the fans already have it, and you aren't going to gain new fans if you aren't out promoting it at all. Bummer for them, though.
Here's hoping they'll find time to get back into the studio and put out some new material soon! (I think a tour -- let alone one in the US -- would be too much to hope for at this point. They'd be like a traveling circus if they took all the kids along. lol)
I wonder whatever happened to Andrea's solo career. Did it flop due to lack of interest on the fan's part or her own? I thought there was quite a bit of hype when she released the solo album and then she just kinda stopped. Hmm.

Hah, that's cute. She must love their "Home" album.
twinzz-evelien - August 7, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
yup she does :)
Andrea is set to release an entire solo album somwhere in the autumn or winter :)
furthermore, she suffers Hayfever so maybe that's why there's so little news on her?

andrea brought our her first (and last up to now) album in 2007 ("Ten Feet High")
:P the re-releasing of old song reminds me of EMI's way of promoting Selena LOL...they have been re-releasing CD's but naming them differently for her since ...1999 or so...
here's to hoping that the same doens't happen to the corrs!!!

...As in another one? Or did you come across old news about the solo album she put out last year? lol
twinzz-evelien - August 7, 2008 08:19 PM (GMT)
it was a message from July of this year..so I'm guessing it's another one?...i'm not sure though
there are many sites talking about the baby boom and "they should take birth control in the corr family" LOL
twinzz-dorien - August 7, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
well... the corrs don't have unrealistically high amounts of kids LOL..pretty normal if you ask me:
sharon married to Gavin Bonnar: 2 kids -- Cathal Robert Gerard Bonnar and Flori Jean Elizabeth Bonnar
Jim (single): 1 kid -- Brandon Corr
Caroline married to Frank Woods: 3 kids -- Jake Woods, Georgina Woods and Rihann Woods
Andrea doesn't have kids but according to celebrity-babies.com she "hopes for a family one day"

Hah, I know, it just seems collectively that they're having a rather large amount of them in a short span of time.
Much like Hanson. Those guys are each in their early/mid-20s and between the three of them have five kids (Isaac has one, Taylor has three and Zac has one), and Taylor's fourth is on the way! I think they freak people out so much with this because they're all so young and we've known of them since they were much younger. lol

I dont follow Hanson... But that would probably be the case because, not only do you know them from that young age..many people also still see them as the little boyband they once were
(i know their music has changed, and their looks as well..but to many..say hanson, think MmmBob)
twinzz-evelien - August 7, 2008 08:34 PM (GMT)
But I think it's not really that big of a deal LOL... as said before, it's not enormous..not like that woman who gave birht to 69 children :P
but I still like their music
me and dorien are awesome at singing one of their songs more-vocally
Paula - August 7, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
So, favorite Corrs song, anyone? Top three? Top five? I know it may be difficult to narrow it down. lol
twinzz-evelien - August 7, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
my absolute favorite has to be, still, breathless! I love that song!!!
I also like Irresistable, love to love you, Runaway, So young, Never loved you anyway
I guess htat's a top 5-sorta

I've kinda tired of "Breathless," I'm afraid. I followed them fairly obsessively back when they were promoting "In Blue" and they must have performed that song on just about every talk show in the US, and it got a lot of play on the radio back then. (I think that was one of their only successful singles in the US, unfortunately.) It's a great song, but I can only listen to it every so often. lol
OMG, I just tried to do a top five and failed. I love too many of their songs. lol
I'll try a top ten instead (in no particular order):
-Give Me a Reason
-Don't Say You Love Me
-I Never Loved You Anyway
-When the Stars Go Blue
-Borrowed Heaven
-Closer
-So Young
-Only When I Sleep
-Hurt Before
-Hopelessly Addicted
...And I still feel like I'm leaving a bunch of good ones out.

LOL... we try to avoid getting tired of songs by not listening to them too often LOL ..u should try that some time  J/K
that is one good list you got there LOL

I was kinda tired of Breathless too, until I made a vid of Jensen with the song. Now I like it again :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RmDmhVNnswI really should make a Danneel vid too. I have ideas in my head, but I lack time unfortunately. It should definitely be a happy vid, because that's how she is
ETA Danneel is in that vid too, but only for 1 sec or so, so that doesn't really count right? *g*
Paula - September 29, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
It's been rumored that The Corrs have an album coming in the near future (possibly December, but that source was way off on other releases, lol). I'll believe that when I see it. Would be great, though!
Elle - September 30, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
Gah i hope so!! I miss them! =(
Paula - September 30, 2008 04:24 PM (GMT)
I knoowww. It's been too long. (To my picky self, anyway, since I consider "Borrowed Heaven" -- which came out in 2004! -- to be their last real album. I wasn't into the stuff they put out on that "Home" album at all.)
I'm really hoping I'll get to see them live once more before they hang it up for good, hopefully as a full group. When I saw them a few years back, Caroline wasn't on the tour because she was about to have a baby. Awesome for her, bummer for the fans! lol
Elle - September 30, 2008 07:32 PM (GMT)
Yeah i wasn't to kean on Home either to be honest. I was lucky enough to see them a few times on the borrowed heaven tour and the first date i went to we had Caroline but then after that she was gone so i was pretty lucky!
I even saw them in an upclose and personal gig that was put on for competition winners, think there was something like 100 people there. One of the most amazing days ever.
Paula - September 30, 2008 07:45 PM (GMT)
Wow, yeah, you're totally lucky! I only got to see them the once (also on the Borrowed Heaven tour), but it was a really great experience, and they so rarely tour the US that I still feel pretty lucky.
I saw them at this really cool outdoor venue in San Diego, right on the bay. It was fairly small and intimate - one of those places where there's really not a bad seat in the house - and we weren't too far back. There was just a really great energy, and it was really fun show. One of my favorite concert experiences ever, for sure. The lack of Caroline is really the only bummer about the whole thing.
Oh, and the opening act. Sorry, but Sophie B. Hawkins is a freaking psycho live, and not in a good way. lmao - Who opened for them over there?
