Anyone into her? I've kinda liked what I've heard of her so far on the show and am wondering if her music is worth checking out. If so, any song recommendations?

I might be seeing her live soon (opening for another band) and am just curious...

I was at Target tonight and was going to take a chance and buy her CD, but it was sold out. Guess that means the exposure from being on OTH and excessive online promotion are paying off. lol

I think she's a typical myspace-hype kid LOL...since she's also on muyspace's lable and stuff ...

that, and the show doesn't do her record sales any bad either I guess LOL...since they re-released her first album the very first day "Mia" appeared onscreen hehe..good commercial call :lol:

I've listened to some of her CD today and like some of the songs - I'm one of those people that has to listen to an album a few times before songs start really growing on me, so we'll see. If nothing else I'll have plenty of bonding time with it on my flight to Florida - I generally just read and listen to music.

I think the banner thing above (or below..) is "decided" on what the people on the board are talking about...like at selenachat, we often have "go to selena hotel" banners or something...

Yeah, I know they're targeted ads that pick up on keywords, but usually the ads you get are not at all related but have similar words in them - it's amusing that this one actually IS about the subject at hand.

So, Kate was one of the (two) opening acts for a concert I went to tonight - she rocked! I've been enjoying her CD, so it was cool to hear some of the songs live.

Then, as a bonus, I got to meet her after the show! She was really sweet. She thanked me for coming out and asked if I had a good time, and I told her I did and that I also liked her on 'One Tree Hill,' and she was like, "Oh, thank you so much! I'm going back to do another episode soon, which is awesome!" and she did this little dance thing when she said it, so I guess she's pretty excited about it. :lol:

Anyway, yay, more Mia in Tree Hill! I was bummed when she went away - I was starting to really like her! (I resisted the urge to tell Kate that she doesn't look like she smells like feet. I'm sure she gets that enough. haha)

She also signed something for me, but it's late and I can't be bothered to scan it at the moment. I'll do that tomorrow.

Yeah, that's no problem - I just figured if Kate was talking about it, it probably wasn't much of a spoiler and that they'd already know. And yeah, I generally stay out of that section.

It was cool to see Kate live. I wish her set had been a bit longer (she did about 20 minutes and the other opening act did about 40 - no fair! lol), but she did most of my favorite songs off her album. "No Good" was pretty awesome live, and people got excited when she started "It's Only Life" - that seemed to be the only one they really recognized. haha

I thought she did well with the unenviable job of opening a show to a bunch of people who had no idea who she was. The crowd was somewhat unresponsive (they clapped/cheered when appropriate, but nobody was really singing along or anything, except for one really enthusiastic group of people up front lol). She was really sweet, though, kept thanking the crowd and saying how good we were being to her. I'd go see her again for sure.

On a random note, she is barely recognizable when she wears her glasses. I didn't think, "Oh, hey, it's Mia!" when I saw her. She definitely set herself apart from her character, though she seemed pretty similar in personality - really outgoing and friendly. No idea if she has any intention of going to the charity game, but she'd do very well in that sort of setting. She seemed genuinely happy to meet each person who approached her in the lobby after the show.

Yeah I know (bout the glasses part) ...she vlogs on myspace about her school and the tour and stuff...when we first saw her with her glasses, evelien and I were both like ..."are we at a wrong page or someting?" LOL

In her defense, she was signing a bunch in a row and had to hold them up against a wall to do so - might explain some of the crazy squiggle effect. But I still don't see how that even remotely resembles "Kate Voegele." lol
